At Z I R P E L there are innovations from time to time. On this page you can find out more and utilise the full potential.
At Zirpel, there are always improvements that don't get their own news entry.
Here is an overview of what has been adjusted recently:
Generate QR code
It is now possible to generate a QR code.
The function can be found at the top left next to the main table.
The QR code contains a link to the survey. This means it can be used on print media.
Export improvements
The export has been improved and can now handle characters such as , and ; better.
In addition, the sorting of the participants is now also taken into account in the export.
Adjustment for Google Login
If the account is linked to a Google account, the events can be loaded from the calendar when logging in.
An improvement has been made here so that all activated calendars are taken into account.
For example, you can activate the public holidays in the Google calendar and then also see them when participating in a poll.
New date formats
New date formats have been added, which can be selected under “My data”.
New are the formats with calendar week, which can be interesting for continuous polls like trainings.
Previously, the times that could be added to an option were fixed.
For example, if you used 11:30 as the time, 11:30 was also displayed for a user in a different time zone.
The user's time zone (setting in the browser) is now taken into account.
A poll with 11:30 Swiss time would then be 10:30 in England.
It is now possible to log in to Z I R P E L with a Google account.
When logging in, access to the calendar is requested.
If you confirm this access, the calendar entries can be displayed when participating in a poll. This makes it easier to participate in the poll.
There are new possibilities for limiting options.
It is now possible to mark an option as not editable or to hide it completely.
This means that only the owner or moderators of a poll can edit or see the corresponding option.
This allows you to enter additional options for each participant in a poll that the participant should not be able to see or edit.
This function can only be used with an account.
The saving of polls has been adjusted. The entire page is no longer reloaded, only the poll section.
This has a positive effect on performance and is more convenient for the user.
As confirmation, a dialogue is briefly displayed as soon as the data has been saved and reloaded.
With an account, your own entries are protected and cannot be customised by others.
However, if you take part in a poll, the owner has control over this poll and can therefore also edit protected entries.
An e-mail notification is now sent in this case. This allows you to react immediately if the adjustments are not correct.
In case you have some polls open, you can now pin the most important ones.
These will then always appear at the top of the list.
Of course, you can also unpin them, so that they no longer appear at the top.
The last 30 days are displayed in the history. Normally this is enough to track the last changes. If there are further entries, you can now reload them at the touch of a button and thus view the changes right up to the start of the poll.
Until now, you had to keep your own answers short. If you didn't do this, the poll could quickly become confusing.
You can now define your own answers to be displayed as dropdowns. This gives you more freedom in terms of the number and length of your answers.
When logging in, you can now log in with a demo user. This allows you to see what Z I R P E L looks like with an account without having to create one. You also have a few demo polls which show you different ways of using Z I R P E L.
If a poll is completed and an appointment is selected, an e-mail is sent to all participants with an account.
New an .ics file containing the selected appointment is then attached to this email.
The data of an individual person can be exported.
This is possible in the editing overview.
When exporting to the calendar, the answers are displayed in the text.
It is now possible to donate via Twint!
Every donation is welcome and helps to keep Z I R P E L adfree.
Previously, entries could only be edited in the table view.
This is not always practical on a device with a small screen.
It is therefore now possible to open an overview next to the name field and adjust the data there directly.
This option has been added to the delete view. Deletion is of course still possible.
If you make changes to a poll and leave the page without saving, you will be notified of the possible loss of data.
A news page has been created to provide information about new features at Z I R P E L.
The most important changes from the past have been added.
Further news will follow.
When entering times or your own answers, there is now a copy function.
This allows you to copy the first entry for all options.
It is also possible to copy the values of the option above.
The delete function has been adapted. A mask is now displayed so that the user can confirm the deletion. This can minimise manipulation errors.
Furthermore, an owner or moderator can undo a deletion via the history.
Until now, participants have always been sorted by entry. Whoever entered last was at the top.
This can now be defined for each poll. There are three different settings:
By participation: The participants are displayed in the order in which they entered.
By change: The participants are sorted according to the last adjustment.
By person: The participants are sorted alphabetically.
For each setting there is the option of sorting in ascending or descending order.
The setting can be adjusted at any time under Sorting.
The most important data is stored in encrypted form.
This includes poll data such as title, location or participants as well as personal data such as e-mail address or user name.
The survey code is also stored in encrypted form.
Even if an attacker were to succeed in gaining access to the database, this information would not be of much use to them.
Singleregistration can be activated under Settings.
This means that participants can only take part and cannot see all other participants.
This can be useful if you want to offer appointments without other people knowing who has booked which appointment and when.
It is possible to define your own texts as possible answers.
This can be used if a free text is too open as an answer but you are not happy with Yes / No / Maybe.
A poll can be analysed. In the case of ongoing surveys, hidden data can also be analysed.
For other polls, it can be used primarily to find the best option.
Many people prefer dark mode. In Zirpel, this is now also possible with an account.
A comment can be entered for each date option.
This can be useful if you want to specify an option.
A From To time can now be entered in the options.
Several times can also be entered for each option.
This means that a poll can be carried out even more accurately.
The first version of the appointment scheduling web app without adverts is online.
